Veterinary Technician

Aspetuck Animal Hospital is looking for a compassionate, experienced Veterinary Technician with excellent communication skills. This position is eligible for quarterly bonuses under Rarebreed s profit-sharing program!

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides compassionate care to patients and clients.
• Assists the Veterinarian in appointments, medical procedures, and treatments
• Keeps accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy.
• Prepares and maintains the exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Performs physical assessments and records observations
• Restrains pets with an emphasis on low-stress handling
• Prepares estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients
• Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
• Maintains an appropriate inventory of all medical supplies as determined by the inventory control system
• Assists Veterinarian with follow up of chronic, medically managed cases and provides support to the pet owner

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) preferred but not required
• At least 3 years experience in a clinical veterinary hospital setting, especially with internal medicine cases
• Familiarity with Fear Free and Low-Stress handling practices
• Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
