Job Description BAE Systems, Electronic Systems is currently recruiting for a Director, Supply Chain in support of our Precision Strike (PS) Business Area. This position will oversee Supply Chain operations across several product lines with locations in New Hampshire, Lexington MA, Huntsville AL and Cedar Rapids IA. The PS Business Area designs and manufactures state-ofâthe-art seeker systems, secure and protected navigation receivers, advanced displays and sensor technologies that enable customers to consistently and effectively complete a variety of missions in complex environments.

The Director of Supply Chain will lead the procurement, subcontracts and planning teams of the Precision Strike Business Area. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the procurement, subcontracts and planning processes as well as extensive experience leading a team of supply chain professionals in a growing environment. This senior position interfaces regularly with other senior leaders from programs, manufacturing operations, engineering, quality, finance, contracts, global sourcing and suppliers. The Director of Supply Chain for PS will drive progressive processes and systems to support the growth of the business as well as meet or exceed business area and functional goals and objectives. The Director will lead the implementation of advanced sourcing, supplier management, supply chain risk reduction and material planning strategies. The Director of PS Supply Chain is responsible for the supply chain value stream from strategic capture, new product design and development through production. The Director of PS Supply Chain will be a champion of cross-functional teams whose mission is to ensure the teams are leveraging spend, driving best value and improving overall supplier performance.

Accountable for the integrated supply chain management of approximately $250 million in material and services acquisition. The role reports to the Electronics Sector VP Supply Chain.

Key outcomes for this role include:
  • Leads and mentors a team of 100 employees across 6 sites.
  • Develop and support the management and integration across a supply chain organization in multiple locations across the US.
  • Understanding the capabilities of the supply chain team and the interactions with other functions to elevate Supply Chain performance to deliver on operational and financial goals.
  • Develops and cultivates mutually beneficial supplier relationships that ensure continuity of supply while maintaining unyielding integrity.
  • Develops supply chain, procurement strategy, goals, and guidelines.
  • Accountable for meeting financial targets and supply base performance.
  • Develops performance metrics and drives initiatives to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Leads the implementation of new business methods, processes and Supply Chain concepts to optimize the company and customer position.
  • Leads and influences the identification of risks and opportunities for complex proposals and Supply Chain matters and is fully responsible for their management
  • Champions the Supply Chain function, acting as a sponsor/coach to others within the function and enhancing the reputation of Supply Chain with other functions
  • Promote an internal and external (supplier) environment where continuous improvement is the goal and annual procurement savings is achieved
  • Works cross-functionally to forge collaborative relationships with engineering, contracts, legal, finance, program management, and operations leadership to drive best practices.
  • Maintains an approved government purchasing system (CPSR experience) and responsible for compliance to all FAR/DFARs regulations.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Related Bachelor's Degree and 12+ yearsâ work experience or equivalent experience.
  • 10 plus years in a manufacturing industry, preferably within an aerospace/defense, automotive, or other highly regulated industry.
  • 5 years of managing and developing Subcontracting professionals; preferably experience in managing other Subcontract Managers.
  • Broad discipline experience in a multi-plant supply chain environment.
  • Excellent leadership skills. Both as a people manager and a transformational leader.
  • DCMA, DCAA and or other similar regulatory experience.
  • Must possess the ability to establish rapport and working relationships at all levels of the organization and communicate effectively throughout.
  • Proven ability to navigate a complex business environment. High tolerance for change and ambiguity.
  • Have a strong bias for action, can communicate vision clearly and be a driver of change.
  • Have an agile leadership style; able to adjust oneâs approach to fit the situation as a driver, coach, mentor, or teacher.
  • Experienced in the entire life cycle of prime and subcontract contracting, from proposal phase to contract closeout.
  • Well versed in the following types of contracts: Commercial, DOD Cost type, Firm Fixed Price, and Services Contracts.
  • Fluent with FAR, DFAR regulations.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 40% of the time
