What to expect on the job:

The National Account Manager (NAM) is responsible for driving sales objectives within our foodservice division. Through the proactive identification of new customers while expanding product offerings with existing customers, the National Account Manager will focus upon achieving annual organizational sales targets. They will collaboratively develop growth strategies and executable plans to support both High Liner and customer goals. The incumbent will strengthen relationships and trust with key customers with a focus upon continued category growth. The NAM will collaborate internally with cross functional teams to address customer needs.

  • Proactively identify new strategic customer opportunities within the top 200 food service accounts, build effective and strong relationships with those accounts
  • Leverage internal and third-party data to develop comprehensive category reviews driving towards insights- based solution sales
  • Develop customer new and existing growth strategies and plans that align to both High Liner's strategic goals and customer's goals
  • Proactively manage accounts, regularly interacting with customers, reviewing, and discussing product lines, lead the resolution of key issues/problems
  • Proactively monitor and manage SG&A while achieving sales volume and contribution and goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, brokers and stakeholders to ensure customer needs are met
  • Engage internal legal teams on customer contract management

Must haves

  • University degree in Business, Commerce or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of related sales experience, preferably in consumer-packaged goods organizations
  • Well established sales relationships within the food service industry, specifically within the Mid-West US
  • Demonstrated success calling on Top 200 National food service accounts
  • Experience in all aspects of sales, including growth strategies, distribution channel management, account development, and business planning.
  • Proven success in working independently, highly self-motivated - hungry to win new foodservice business
  • Analytical - able to leverage internal and third party data to produce strong selling narratives
  • High level of expertise in sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques that result in sales success
  • Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
  • Proven experience in identifying, securing and maintaining lasting account relationships
  • Highly effective skills in cost analysis, fiscal management, and budgeting techniques.
  • Customer-focused, strong root cause analysis skills coupled with client focused solutioning
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to think strategically, negotiate complex contracts, and engage the broker community
  • Solid computer skills, coupled with progressive analytical skills

This role requires travel + overnight travel. Candidates must be willing to travel as needed to drive business results.
