Salary: ASTEC Charter Schools is a growing public school district in Oklahoma City, serving a highly diverse population. ASTEC is searching for Elementary Teachers to join our team. We are currently a preK-5th grade campus and encourage all grade-level Elementary teachers to apply! Become a part of a great team and an administration that values professional development. We are interviewing for the 2023-2024 school year to find the best candidates. New teachers work 187 working days in an entire contract and enjoy all the holidays, breaks, and weekends that teachers are accustomed to. Applicants with more years and higher degrees receive more pay. All new hires will receive a one-time sign-on bonus of up to $1,500, paid on their first check if they hold an OK Teaching certification. ASTEC pays teachers between $3,000 -$11,000 more than the state minimum salaries. Our company seeks a highly motivated and experienced Elementary School Teacher interested in joining our team. The ideal candidate will have classroom management experience, knowledge of all subject areas, and proven teaching skills. The right candidate will be able to manage students' behaviors and will be responsible for planning effective lessons and activities that meet state standards. Responsibilities: * Teach specific curriculum to students. * Prepare lesson plans. * Assess student progress and communicate with parents. * Adjust teaching methods as needed. * Evaluate the quality of teaching materials and programs in use. * Have knowledge and understanding of modern educational theory and practice. * Be able to handle emergencies such as injuries, weapons or drugs being brought to school and other security issues.
