Community Hospital Corporation (CHC), is seeking a Director of Clinical Informatics that will also serve as our Associate Compliance Officer, to work under the direction of the Sr Vice President of Information Technology and be responsible for planning, managing and implementing CHC s Corporate Clinical Informatics program, leveraging expertise in clinical care of patients, facility operations, and clinical informatics to drive corporate standards of practice across electronic medical records systems.

The Director serves as a role model for bridging the functions of clinical care and information technology within all aspects of organization. The Director will work closely with hospital leadership, clinical staff, and technology teams to enhance the use of electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technology solutions to improve patient care and outcomes.

As Associate Privacy Officer, the Director is accountable for assisting the Privacy Officer with the development, implementation, and oversight of policies and programs which improve the protection of physical and digital assets, PHI/ePHI, PII, and reduce overall organizational security risk. They will also support the Privacy Officer in any related investigation, documentation and remediation activities.

Major Responsibilities

Develop and implement a strategic plan for clinical informatics and privacy to improve patient care, reduce costs, and enhance workflow efficiency for our hospitals while keeping patient data protected.

Work collaboratively with clinical staff, hospital leadership, and technology teams to oversee local informatics programs to optimize the use of EHR and other digital health technology solutions.

Assess clinical workflow processes and recommend changes to improve patient outcomes, provider satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Provide training and education on EHR and other digital health technology solutions to clinical staff and hospital leadership.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, privacy standards, and clinical informatics best practices.

Participate in the selection and implementation of new healthcare technology solutions to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Analyze clinical data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

Collaborate with other departments, including finance and quality, to identify opportunities for cost savings and quality improvement.

Assists Privacy Officer with investigations and documentation

Educates corporate and facility leaders on the importance of privacy and impacts on organizational risk

Oversees facility privacy program compliance

Skills and Knowledge

Ability to utilize Google Apps, MS Office and analytical tools

Broad exposure to a variety of clinical departments and patient care systems

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Informatics, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current and Active RN License
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Clinical Informatics, preferably in a rural or community hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of EHR systems including Medhost, Wellsky, Medetech, Cerner, and Epic, as well as other digital healthcare technology solutions.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and best practices related to clinical informatics.
  • Experience in privacy program management preferred.
  • Ability to travel 70% - 80% of time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or Certification in Informatics, or equivalent field
  • Minimum 3 years front-line clinical experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a clinical informatics function
  • Minimum 1 year privacy program oversight and management
