Job Summary:


The Weapons and Platforms Center within SI&T seeks talented Electrical Engineers to join our Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) Departments. In this role, youll be challenged to design, build, and integrate state-of-the-art test environments as part of our multi-disciplined team. Youll work with weapon system designers to understand requirements, design solutions, integrate, and deploy the systems to help support tactical software development, testing, and delivery for missiles to the warfighter.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team in an engineering environment
  • Design, develop, and integrate missile flight simulation systems. Typical work includes:
    • Technical drawing development
    • Schematic creation
    • Circuit design and circuit analysis
    • Test interface development, including adapters and cabling
  • Identify and resolve issue and anomalies through debugging, troubleshooting, and related data analysis
  • Travel up to 20% to support development and/or delivery of our test environment equipment
  • Ensuring projects are performed within technical, cost, and schedule requirements

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), or Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience, OR a Master of Science degree in these fields of study and six (6) years of relevant experience, or a PhD in these fields and a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
    • Relevant experience includes working in a team environment performing all phases of electrical engineering design which includes electronic design, troubleshooting, analysis and test (circuit card through system level)
  • Experience with electrical engineering design and analysis tools such as: Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, Creo Schematic, Xilinx Vivado, or equivalent
  • Experience using schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics and/or performing advanced FPGA firmware development (VHDL or Verilog)
  • Experience using test equipment, such as: Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Network Analyzers, Power Meters, etc
  • Active and transferrable US Government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
    • Please note that many of our programs also require Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)

Qualifications We Value:

  • Experience leading a team, including both technical leadership in a multidisciplinary team environment, as well as project management with experience in earned value management
  • Experience in the design and development of flight simulators for a military weapons system
  • Experience integrating and debugging complex test environments, such as a flight simulator
  • Experience performing analog, digital, and/or RF design
  • Experience designing, testing, and integrating digital, mixed signal, and electrical system interconnect
  • Experience with technical writing and formal presentations
  • Experience with leveraging existing designs in order to interface with new units under test (UUTs) and UUT configurations
  • Experience contributing to proposals, including the development of Basis of Estimates
  • Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures.
